The village is 10 minutes from the motorway, 9 km from the centre of Morges, 20 km from Lausanne and 50 km from Geneva International Airport.
The village is served by the MBC regional train R156, better known as BAM (Bière-Apples-Morges). The station is approximately 800 m from the village centre.
The village is located on a hillside a few hundred meters north of the Etraz road (connecting Aubonne to Cossonay). The commune includes vineyards to the south, forests to the north, and agricultural land. A craft and market gardening area is located to the south-east of the commune, below the Etraz road. The vines are part of the Morges vineyard, one of the 12 production sites of the AOC La Côte .
The residential areas are concentrated in the old town and on the extension of the village to the east on the hills of Sus-Vellaz/Chanta-Merloz, as well as in the districts of Gare, Niclettes, En Oussin, and Vieux-Motty. There are also some dwellings along the Boiron at Moulin Martinet and Moulin au Loup as well as under the Etraz road at Pra Reymond. Several agricultural estates are spread over the commune (Les Sembres, Le Vernay, La Flogère, La Teinture, ...).
